Professional Development
Workshops, company events, mentorship, and plenty of chances to build the skills that actually matter when it comes time to apply for internships and jobs.

Building community, creating opportunities, and empowering Asian-heritage students in STEM!
What we run,
every semester.
We’re the Virginia Tech chapter of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers. We want members to leave with more than just another club on their resume — real friendships, useful experience, and a community they can always come back to.
Our three pillarsWorkshops, company events, mentorship, and plenty of chances to build the skills that actually matter when it comes time to apply for internships and jobs.

We celebrate the cultures and experiences that bring our community together through events, conversations, food, traditions, and just spending time with one another.

We make time to give back too, whether that means supporting the Blacksburg community, helping younger students, or creating opportunities for the people coming after us.

SASE is built around helping our members grow professionally, stay connected to their culture, and give back to the communities around them.
From general body meetings and career workshops to socials, company events, and conferences, there’s always something happening with SASE.
These are some of the students helping make SASE happen this year, from planning events to working with companies and building our community.

Being part of SASE connects us with chapters all across the Southeast! Through conferences, leadership events, and collaborations, our members get to meet students from other schools and be part of a community that goes way beyond Virginia Tech.
Virginia Tech on the map
A big part of SASE is helping members connect with people and opportunities they might not find on their own. That includes students at other universities, SASE alumni, and professionals from companies across STEM.
Those connections are possible because of the organizations that continue to support our chapter.
Our sponsors help make our workshops, events, and professional opportunities possible. They also give members the chance to connect directly with engineers, recruiters, and professionals throughout the year.
New to SASE? Here are a few things people usually ask before joining us!
No! SASE is open to everyone regardless of background, identity, major, or year. Anyone interested in our community and events is welcome to join.
